2nd GHS-DST workshop at Chamba (H.P.)

The second workshop of DST-GHS on “Sustainability of Natural resources in Chamba Industrial Hub” was organized at Bachat Bhawan Auditorium, Chamba on 08.10.2024. It was attended by 105 candidates from schools, ITIs, Industries, social workers, H.P. Government offices and NGO’s. Shri Mukesh Repaswal, IAS , Dy commissioner gave a comprehensive lecture on the need of preserving our environment.

Sh J.K Bhalla welcomed the guests and participants and explained the objectives of this workshop.

  • Dr H.S Saini discussed the importance of geological set of area vis a vis industrial impact and threats from natural hazards.
  • Dr A. Mukherjee of CIWTM Faridabad highlighted the fragility of environment of Chamba area and advised all concern to maintain due acre in the anthropogenic activities.
  • Sh C.S.Khokkhar presented the nature of rocks and the geotechnical activities for communication in the area.
  • Dr Nidhi Didwania of MIIRS Faridabad, dealt with the medicinal plants of Chamba region and danger to them from human activities.
  • Sh Sharma Forest guard of HP forest Deptt presented a lucid account of the varied nature of vegetation and wild life and problems in preserving these verities from human induced interferences.
