The 4th. D.K. Chadha Memorial Lecture-an annual event sponsored by Global Hydrogeological Solutions-was organized jointly with Panjab University Geology Alumnii Association (PUGA) on 28the April 2026 at Geology department of Punjab University Chandigarh.
The event was presided over by Dr. B.P.Singh, Professor and vice- chairman, Department of Geology, Panjab University. S/Sh. J.K. Bhalla of GHS and Sh. Kuldeep Kaushal, President PUGAA graced the occasion as Guests of Honour.
This year lecture was delivered by renouned Landslide expert Dr. Mahesh Thakur, Assistant Professor, Department of Geology, Panjab University on “Slope Stability Analysis, Multi-Sensor Monitoring and Predictive Modelling of Landslides, Northwestern Himalayas, India”. The lecture highlighted advanced approaches in landslide monitoring, multi-sensor techniques, and predictive modelling with special reference to the Northwestern Himalayas, India..
The GHS also gives cash awards to the best students of the geology department for their outstanding academic achievements. This year the awards were given to the toppers of session 2024–2025 which included two M.Sc. toppers Ms. Muskan and Ms. Snigdha Sharma and one B.Sc. topper, Ms. Amreen.
The session concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Dr. B. P. Singh (Secretary, PUGAA) expressing gratitude to the speaker, dignitaries, organizers, and students for their valuable contributions. The programme concluded with high tea at 12:10 PM.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty members, alumni, and students, making it a highly engaging and intellectually enriching academic gathering.
